There was a survey done on one of the forums asking people about what fluids they use. For brakes the most popular one was ATE Super Blue/200. You can make a bleed kit for less than $40 but when you factor in the time and hassle it's probably not worth it. Brett? Please explain to me how not having a thermostat in place (essentially a gutted thermostat) will cause a motor to overheat? Regards, Rich

Peter, I've had Axxis/PBR Deluxes on my car (street only) for the last 9 years (same set). They are cheap, rotor friendly, very low dust, and obviously last a long time. The braking performance is pretty poor though. You get about.... 1 hard stop before they fade. :) I take it pretty easy on the street, so they've been fine for me. They used to be popular 10 years ago, but I think technology has replaced them with better street pads like the Ultimates, Akebono Ceramics, PF-Zs, etc., which from what I've heard, have all the same benefits with much better braking performance. I'm due for some new rotors and I'll probably switch to the Akebono or Hawk ceramics, mostly because chewed up rotors (from track pads) have worn the Deluxes to an irregular shape over the years. I think I could probably get another 9 years of street use out of them if I had to.
