The only person I know who tried PSS9's on an M3 switched over the TC Kline Koni DA's later. The PSS9 spring rates were strange. Too soft in front and too stiff in back. Maybe some other list members will give them good reviews? Chris ----- Original Message ----- > > Group, > > Okay it's been a while since the PSS9 coilovers have been available for > our cars. I've been watching for reviews on this list since they've come out, and haven't seen a single reference to them being entry level. On the contrary from other sources, they seem to be the preferred choice at least in auto-x, and last years STU crowd, and I am almost balls certain the leaders at nationals were running them. Neary ran them on his m-tri-cycle and I am trying to remember where he placed in 2006. I can't comment on track and haven't heard anything from this other side. I have a set that I've installed and at this point only managed to very aggressively street test and was extremely pleased vs. other choices on different cars I've made in the past including GC with respect to over-all perf. I wouldn't recommend them for a primarily street driven car, but blended street, auto-x track I think they fit the bill perfectly. Only downside probably is lack of selecting spring rates, but from what I understand, many of you track whores keep a selection springs around to suit the event. Thumbs up for PSS9. #8. Brake rebuild questions - from Mdgreer
Top
Date: Wed, 2 May 2007 21:56:27 -0400 (EDT) From: "Mdgreer" <mark.greer@excite.com> Subject: Brake rebuild questions I removed, cleaned, rebuilt and painted the brake calipers. New brake lines (stoptech)are in the box & ready for installation. Question is, in what order should everything go back together? I mean, the calipers should be bled, the lines need to be installed, I might need to replace the reservoir, etc. For now, I've just clamped the oem brakelines to hold in the old fluid. BTW, I could also use a recommended source for a brake reservoir; the list sponsors don't have it. Thanks, _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!

Date: Wed, 2 May 2007 19:12:15 -0700 From: Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Brake rebuild questions You could attach the calipers to the lines and suspend each one in turn in a position that places the bleed nipple as high as possible -- then power bleed each corner, being sure to prevent the caliper piston from coming out (it will tend outwards, even with just a few psi on the reservoir). Shake / tap the caliper a bit while you're doing this, and you should be able to get most if not all of the air out of each leg of the system. Then I would mount the caliper in its final position and do one more round of bleeding. --Andrew >Date: Wed, 2 May 2007 21:56:27 -0400 (EDT) >From: "Mdgreer" <mark.greer@excite.com> >Subject: Brake rebuild questions > > >I removed, cleaned, rebuilt and painted the brake calipers. >New brake lines (stoptech)are in the box & ready for installation. >Question is, in what order should everything go back together? > >I mean, the calipers should be bled, the lines need to be installed, >I might need to replace the reservoir, etc. > >For now, I've just clamped the oem brakelines to hold in the old fluid. > >BTW, I could also use a recommended source for a brake reservoir; >the list sponsors don't have it. > >Thanks, > >_______________________________________________ >Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com >The most personalized portal on the Web! > > > > >************************************************* >Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: > >Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com >Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com >Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com >Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com >Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com >Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com > >DIGEST INFORMATION: >http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm >************************************************* -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Trick question? :-P Install the new lines on your rebuilt calipers install the caliper with new line onto the car. Then bleed. If that doesn't feel great then you didn't bleed it very well so re-bleed. Why do you need a new reservoir? Every list sponsor has an account at a dealership, did someone not want to order one for you? If so then you can do that yourself. Use realoem.com/bmw to find the part number and call one of many dealerships that will ship it to you. I use Ganley BMW and the BMW Store but there are many others. Carlos 98 M3
