Albert Dirks, who lives in my area, did some research on the spontaneous reseting of the IHKA and attributes the problem to too little margin in a "watchdog" timer capacitor. You can find his (German language) write up here: http://www.auto-treff.com/bmw/vb/showthread.php?s=81e187f9e6a18582e838011bd13f7b23&threadid=55769 I understand there is another problem in the IHKA control with cracked traces which you can fix by resoldering the connector. He fixed his watchdog problem by replacing the original 0.47uF polyster film capacitor with a 2.2uF part, but remarks that 1uF should also be enough. (A 1uF part would also be considerably cheaper). -John '96 318is

They don't have the talent to > modulate the throttle that well (don't even get me started > on how much fun this is over bumps...). That's a legitimate gripe from any angle. The Sport Throttle has always had a problem with unintended inputs. This is manifested most often in daily driving, the "stutter" syndrome where the driver accidentally gives to much throttle, the car lurches forward, inertia pulls the driver's foot off the throttle, car nosedives with throttle lift, foot falls forward with deceleration and over-applies throttle... repeat until nauseous. For some people, Sport Throttle was better left off until out of 1st gear. > >Nevertheless, I think we'd be in agreement that it would be nice if that button was a dial instead. > > As long as the dial goes up to 11, I'm ok with it. ;-) Gimme > one for ABS and traction control too and we are getting somewhere! =8^O That's Motorsport/DTC catalog stuff. ;-) - Rob Levinson

My climate control doesn't seem to hold a constant temperature very well, which is quite frustrating. When two people are in the car, it is constantly cooling the air below the set temperature, causing us to continually jack up the thermostat. Very annoying. I honestly miss the old time non-thermostat heat controls. I had an easier time regulating a constant temperature in in the cabin with those.

A buddy's CMod car had those except it had the voltmeter installed, I decided a water temp gauge would be more useful. What happened to Eastern Motorwerks? They filled a void in the aftermarket with their kits IMO, priced for the enthusiast that doesn't want to blow big money on fancy gauges or data aq. I should copy the wiring harness before I ship it, that thing IS nice. :-) Carlos 98 M3 getting SPA gauges instead 89 325i getting Nordskog ones but VDO would be better for a street car IMO
