Date: Wed, 16 May 2007 16:44:21 -0700 (PDT) From: jeffrey Lin <jeffreywlin@yahoo.com> Subject: Fabricator In my opinon, the best Fabricator is Rolf at Infineon Raceway. Does not market like others but he's as about as good as they get. Won't be cheap though. McGee Motorports also does great cage work, but they are probably too busy this time of year to do a cage.

In a couple not-too-serious attempts to pop out the MFD, it didn't wanna go. The top edge will pop out easily enough, but whether I keep pushing at that point, or push it back in and alter the angle of pressure to try to make the bottom edge come loose, all that happens is the surrounding console trim starts bulging out in a scary manner--it seems like that bottom edge is securely held by something. What's the trick?

If you stick your finger almost straight up into the hole above the sunglass holder there's a tab you must push in before the bottom will come out. Otherwise you'll have to use excessive force. With this tab pushed in it comes out fairly gently. No guarantees about your OBC falling apart though since mine does every time. OK and....? :-) I went back to see what I paid for that harness, from my paypal receipt I sent $57 for it to Jamie. I'm guessing he had a generic $7 for shipping or something on his site. So anyone interested in a copy of that harness? It'll probably be about $50 as the wire he uses for the senders is oil and gasoline resistant and probably 'spensive. Mine was made for the standard Oil press, oil temp., volt meter kit so there would be more of that expensive wire to add for the water temp sender if that's what you guys are putting together for yourselves. The VDO gauges & senders can be ordered thru SummitRacing.com. I don't know who makes the panels but I put my own together using a 3 hole plate I bought from Jamie ($30) and it was a pain in the arse. I hate dremeling plastic. :-) Carlos 98 M3 soon w/SPA gauges :-)
