I upped the spring rate, however, and had to go to 15mm spacers to get them to fit. 12mm would work, but I didn't have any, so there you go. ;) The TCK VVS 550 springs are available in a short version, but the 600s aren't for some reason, so I had to adjust them down far enought that they interfered with tire clearance. With the TCK setup, it will depend on your spring rate choice as well as ride height. Possibly just hard to find at the moment, as I believe they may have just recently been released, and are most likely on the way to distributors now. I'm fairly certain the 235s are still on national backorder. Funny thing is that this is exactly what happened with the RA1s when that size came out a few years back. If the companies are related closely, the don't seem to share some vital info anyway. ha! Jonathan L >From: "Jim Bassett" <jim@jimbassett.com> > >They do, according to Nitto. Flushing the system before replacing anything new is a good idea for what you mentioned but also if the media in the receiver/drier has come apart and circulated too. That said, napa and other local parts dealers sell an AC flush gun. I think when I saw it last the gun kit was $69, plus about $20 for the cleaner. You could use compressed air but you'd most likely want it to be filtered/dried air. If you don't want to pay for the flush gun for one use, you could cut apart the old receiver/drier to see if it was intact...just an idea, then you could probably get away with just compressed air. Texas heat is forcing me to stop being lazy and get the rebuilt ac compressor (and receiver drier and expansion valve) I bought installed. I've looked over a DIY writeup on Bimmerforums and I think I have it figured. One question I have though is that given my compressor died, should I attempt to blow out the lines in case when it failed any pieces of compressor made it into the lines? I'd thought of using either canned air or maybe just R134a to flush the lines. Any opinions if I need to worry about this, and if so, how to best do it? ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************

If you Google around a bit you'll come across a couple of decent AC forums that will have a wealth of info on this. I am no expert but I believe the flush procedures all require a lot more air than you're going to get out of a can. If your compressor failed in a way that threw debris you're probably nuts not to have a real flush done, but if it just started leaking at the seals just a re-seal/rebuild might work. I've never had much luck getting a rebuild to last longer than one season (although I've never done a BMW air conditioner) so take my advice for what it's worth. This is a really good one: http://www.autoacforum.com/ Its a forum hosted by http://ackits.com which is where I usually buy AC related tools and supplies. Worth checking out if your still shopping. Anyone out there have an easy way to remove the heavy sunroof cartridge and just affix the outside panel back in the hole. I am looking for a no weld/no paint solution. I have not taken this apart yet and the headliner is still in place, no idea what is under there. If welding is the only way, does it mess up the paint on the outside? I have seen the filler panel you can buy and it screws in place using the tabs that the OEM cartridge screws into, any experience with that out there? Thanks, --Bill 96 M3 red (partially stripped)
