Date: Tue, 12 Jun 2007 12:57:09 -0700 From: "Peter Loron" <peterloron@gmail.com> Subject: Brake switch replacement - how to remove the panel? I need to replace my brake light switch. I pulled the two obvious screws from the panel under the steering wheel, but was stymied by the smooth clip/button/whatever at the top right corner of the panel. Do I just keep tugging on the panel to get that out? Once I get the top panel removed, does the bottom panel (actually covering the tops of the pedals, etc) just slide out? Any tips for the rest of the panel removal / replacement process? Thanks! -Pete

It cracks...as I found out this past weekend. Fortunately, there was a welder at the track so I could get it stitched up Sunday morning. The crack was 2 inches long (disguised by the undercoating a bit). I found out that I wasn't the only one who had experienced this problem (although the others were prepared or mod class cars. Don't all rush out to the parking lot at once to check your cars, the boss will notice... :-) Cheers, Kirk Lachman Sin City Chapter '95 M3 #21 I-stock

IIRC there is a little screw in that corner, covered by a tiny plastic cover which almost always gets lost, or doesn't fit back on again properly. Pry it off carefully with a glasses screwdriver, and you'll see a Phillips head screw. Date: Tue, 12 Jun 2007 20:23:55 +0000 From: m.michalski@comcast.net Subject: Shaking steering wheel Good Afternoon, I need some help. I have a problem with my steering wheel shaking after the car reaches speeds above and beyond 65 as well as on hard braking at high speeds. I just had my tie rods replaced and new brake pads installed. I was getting the shutter a little bit before I replaced these items thinking that it would fix the problem. Now it is even worse. Any ideas on what might be causing this?? Thanks in advance. Michael 97 ///M3 Windy City BMWCCA
