I was very happy with these tires and got about 20k miles from them. I'm tempted to just get another set, but the BFG KDW has also caught my eye and it costs less. Any experience comparing the two? The only other tire I considered was the PS2 but they don't seem to rate any higher in grip, ride, longevity or quietness compared to the other two despite them being the highest priced. This will be in the 235/40-17 size on a 95 with stock rims. thanks Carl 95 M3 50k

Date: Fri, 22 Jun 2007 20:38:21 -0400 From: "Matt Bader" <mbader@exammaster.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Re: here we go again... I purchased my 98 M3/4 for $15,000 last year with 76,000 miles on it. Spent a total of $6500 on Stage II s/c kit from Active (C38 Rotrex - CF), added sport springs, bilsteins, upgraded the clutch, short shift kit, and lightweight flywheel. Total cost at least $26,000 (and I hesitate to dig through my records to find the exact cost -- likely higher). So, was it worth the money? In my opinion, yes. As long as I take care of the car, I will have a great ride, one that is difficult to find in today's heavy-car, electronics-laden market, and it has a little panache and exclusivity to go with it. I think you do get to the point where some upgrades, and depending on what you use the car for, are simply not worth the extra cash (same goes for additions to your house). I could easily dump thousands more into the car, but I think I am basically at the point of diminishing returns now. I plan on upgrading the exhaust, possibly replacing the cams and intake, and making the car lighter. By then I will be pushing 30k for a car with a build date of 11/97. I will once again have to ask myself the question was it worth it? Still, when I hop into that baby, and go on the open road, I am real happy :-) Matt Bader 98 M3/4 Delaware -----Original Message----- From: DocWyte [mailto:docwyte@comcast.net] Sent: Friday, June 22, 2007 6:17 PM To: E36M3 Subject: Re: [E36M3] Re: here we go again... I look at the odometer which just rolled over to 185K miles and I think what am I doing? Is it worth it? Was it worth it to do the head and is it worth it to keep the car until the engine goes? Then what. Do I rebuild and start over? Do I keep the car forever? :-P The answer to that question is I don't know but that car is absolutely one of the best parts of my day. Thanks, Mark
