Thought I had read the 5/98 date in either The 3 Series Companion or in other official BMW literature. I'm sure after the several beers I plan to have tonight when I get home, I'll forget all about this :-) Jim Bassett - car is fixed, wife's purse was found (intact!), Nik has surgery tomorrow....2 down, 1 to go

Look at the competition in the V8 sporty executive express segment. Lots of sedans. Audi S4 & RS4, Caddy CTSV, MB CLS and E-class AMG models (a wagon E65AMG!), Jag S-Type R (can anyone else see a Jag with huge "Type-R" stickers on the back?). The car is down this year and needs major repairs, but will hopefully be out next year to play once again.... Up my way you have the top 2 DSP 2006 drivers, Alex S and Mike S in their cars knocking heads against my 75-80% prepared BSP car. If you don't already know those two, they went 1, 2 at SCCA Nat's last year :-) So I think they have proven they can drive their cars and prepare them as well. Your cost projections are not far off, but if anyone on this list is looking for some lightweight low cost rims. A local sponsor of my car has some serious answers for the list! I have hosted them here for thos interested: _http://gwl.rmsolo.org/M3-4-WF/_ (http://gwl.rmsolo.org/M3-4-WF/) Thanks for posting Graeme. It's a well done job and certainly one I'd love to venture into, if only I had the spare dollars. Let's face it from start to finish (including wheels and tires) this is a $6,000 job! But I have to say, Steve's car is the perfect example of what BMW should have done to the e36M3 fenders anyway. I'd love to strap in and autox her ;-)) cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2005 / 2006 Philly Region BSP Champion Sponsored by Wheel Collision Center & Rogue Engineering

The other options I can think of are the aforementioned oil pump nut or even the oil pump itself. Regards Jamie

#8. Passenger front seat occupancy sensor - from Avedis, Alexander (US SSA)
Top
Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2007 00:11:30 -0400 From: "Avedis, Alexander (US SSA)" <alexander.avedis@baesystems.com> Subject: Passenger front seat occupancy sensor I'm getting the airbag warning light come on in the dash whenever a heavy set person sits in the front passenger seat. They do not have to attempt to buckle the seatbelt for the light to come on. This was determined after multiple resets of the light but no error code being offered. I checked the M3 page but did not find anything. Is there a write up that someone has on a procedure to RxR the sensor. I would imagine that it would require removing the seat. Are there any "while you are in there" jobs that go along with this repair? Thanks. Alex 98 M3/4 98.4k miles NJ Chapter BMW CCA

Check the connectors underneath the seat. I had an intermittent sensor error that was solved by cleaning the contacts of the sensor connector under the seat. However...I always had an error code for the seat sensors. You don't get any error code at all? Dave
