It's good to occasionally get an instructor in the right seat. They see things that you don't and they correct errors that you've built up over time. - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net Check out my JustRacing homepage at: http://www.justracing.com/homepage/mdadgar

I guess I can see that!! We had someone bring a race car to a school where the passenger seat rocked on its mounts and the seatbelt receptacle had been hastily attached to the seat (not the car body). The instructor was not amused! - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net Check out my JustRacing homepage at: http://www.justracing.com/homepage/mdadgar

When I get home I'll look in my files and?let you know what it cost me.? Since I can't remember, it must not have been too bad ;-) ? The RE shifter is great.? My original shifter was getting to be like a stick in pooh!? Now, the feel is precise?but with no notchiness.? Just a great aftermarket product.? Two thumbs up! cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2005/2006 Philly Region BSP Champion Sponsored by WCC & Rogue Engineering -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan Evans <jonathanevans@hotmail.com> To: E36M3 <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 9:38 am Subject: [E36M3] Rogue Short Shift Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 09:30:08 -0400 From: Jonathan Evans <jonathanevans@hotmail.com> Subject: Rogue Short Shift Okay, about once a year for the past seven years I ping the list about the Rogue Engineering short shift kit. I may actually bite the bullet on this one now. I've been waiting for the clutch to implode and it's still holding on after 135k miles. The shifter feels like a wooden spoon in a bowl of Jello. So, how's the installation for a moderate DIY'er? Time is the only skill I have plenty of. It took me 4 months to change the timing belt on my track miata. :) Is there a time/cost benefit to doing the clutch and the shift kit at the same time? I'm afraid the clutch R&R is beyond my wrench monkeying skills and then I'd just have to pay the shop to do both. reference: http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=RE&Category_Code=SSK (is there a list discount?) PS: I will buy a hatchback 1 series with any engine they drop in there. On the street I ran zero clicks compression and one half turn from full soft on rebound with 400 lb springs and it rode just as good as my new Bilsteins with stock springs. Which is a nice plush ride. :-) Rex

Picture myself and my fiancee both underneath the car, each with a screwdriver through our end of the clothes hanger to act as a handle to pull down on, and the clothes hanger wrapped around the top of the clip, and we pulled down uber hard. ....there aren't many things I hate in life.... for sure, the nazi's........and this clip... -Ben On 7/2/07, Burgess, Kim L <kim.l.burgess@boeing.com> wrote: > Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2007 12:39:11 -0700 > From: "Burgess, Kim L" <kim.l.burgess@boeing.com> > Subject: Stock Shifter Replacement Parts - was RE: Rogue Short Shift > > Ron Stygar runs down the list of items to replace in a stock shifter > here. > http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/drivetrain/e36_replace_a_shift_lever.ht > ml > > BOAC Removal > http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/drivetrain/e36_remove_bitch_clip.html > > I seem to recall him configuring a flat blade screw driver with a slot > cut into the blade and a bend in the shaft for BOAC removal. > http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/circlip.gif > > Thank You! > > Kim L Burgess > > > > ************************************************* > Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: > > Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com > Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com > Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com > Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com > Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com > Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com > > DIGEST INFORMATION: > http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm > ************************************************* > > > -- Thanks, Ben
