Those are for a US S52, specifically with S50 intake manifold and ASC throttle body removed.. S50 will be somewhat different, at the least it doesn't need the emissions-related stuff. I don't know if other bits are different, such as different heater hoses. Some parts, like the non-ASC intake boot and shorter ICV hose are optional, depending on options and/or modifications. Hopefully it's a good starting point to help find all the bits that can be replaced. marty kim.burgess@att.net wrote: > Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 03:41:47 +0000 > From: kim.burgess@att.net > Subject: Re: Replacing Intake Manifold? > > Is this list of parts different for the S50/S52 or is it the same? > >

I'm at Mid-Ohio for a NASA weekend and since my buddy was getting his Spec E30 car dynoed I went ahead and had my 98 M3 done. This is a 104,000 mile stock motor with the M50 manifold, ASC throttle body removed, Conforti software (done a long time ago when there was no shark injector), Conforti intake (small HFM), and Evosport pulleys. 239 hp and 226 ft-lbs of torque. So for you guys thinking this is not a worthwhile mod until you get cams, go ahead and wait, you don't want all this horsepower. :-P Carlos 98 M3 has to weigh a ton to be in GTS2 :-( time for a de-tune.

#4. What to do with the M3/4? - from Dave Hogg

Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 20:41:00 -0400 From: "Dave Hogg" <dhogg1@comcast.net> Subject: What to do with the M3/4? Well, since reading the AW drive/review of the new M3, I've decided on a 335 4-door. With the Procede ecu enhancement, it will absolutely stomp the E92 M3 around town with lots more torque and only a little less HP. Hmmm, maybe it should have AWD to put the power down? A 335xi perhaps? Now, what do I do with the cherry Alpenweiss M3/4? It's so sweet, but with nearly 120K miles. It would take a lot of work to make it a proper IP car. Or I could sell it. Decisions, decisions. Dave Hogg

Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 22:10:11 -0400 From: Mark D <mdlkml@atari-source.com> Subject: WTB: 1999 M3/4 auto Hello guys, I'm in the market for a white 1998/9 E36 M3 auto 4 door alpine white. I'm looking to pay good money for one with low miles and in very good to mint condition. I can bend on the 4 door requirement, but it must be auto and it must be very late year with low miles (up to just under 100,000 should be fine, will consider higher depending on the work that's been done and the work that's needed). The seller must be willing to let me subject the car to rigorous inspection including an oil test, leakdown test and coolant test, title must be clean with no lease owners (unless it turned into a lease buy-out by a personal owner rather than a company car). Will pay well above market value for the right vehicle. I'm far more concerned with getting a reliable responsibly driven, well cared for vehicle than I am with getting a steal or even a deal. I'm in Lansdale, PA (near Philadelphia). For the most part it should be fairly loaded, no LTW's or anything. You should have all service records for the car too. The car should also have 1-3 owners, but will consider a car that's been passed around more. The wife finally decided she likes my car enough that she wants her own. Thanks, Mark

I have a single owner 4-Door, although it's a 1997, but only 66K miles. But it's a 5-Speed. My car is one of the ones that hates the OE Bosch plugs. Runs like sh** with them...idles like its missing on 1/2 of the cylinders. With NGK's it runs like a champ. Never seen any engine be so picky about plugs. #8. Big brakes - 325i set for sale, what to buy for M3? - from bnmhead-bmw@yahoo.com

Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2007 11:21:34 -0700 (PDT) From: <bnmhead-bmw@yahoo.com> Subject: Big brakes - 325i set for sale, what to buy for M3? I was in an accident and my '95 325i was totaled. Right now it looks like I'll be moving to a M3, so just head's up to anyone who might be interested in a set of big brakes for a 325i. It's the Racing Dynamics (now RD Sport here in the US, don't get me started) kit, uses what Brembo calls their "Lotus" caliper (same caliper is used on Vipers) and I have two set of rotors. The rotors are one piece, cross drilled, 320 x 28. I also have a set of Racing Dynamics 5 spoke 17 x 8 rims (model RGR) that are specifically made for use with the brakes. Inside is cast "Approved for use with the Racing Dynamics Brakes". I'll sell them together with the brakes if someone wants them both. I haven't had any problems at all with the brakes, but the clearcoat on the outside has peeled a bit. It's right over the Brembo logo - I've spoken with Brembo and they don't refinish the calipers themselves, but they can provide high temp vinyl logo stickers to use when doing it. No leaks, but they could probably stand to be rebuilt, rebuild kits are available. I'll come up with a price once things firm up and I'm sure I won't be wanting them, just wanted anyone in the market to know, it's not a huge market. As far as big brakes go, has anyone written up any sort of comparison of what's available for the M3? Given some manufacturers are now putting some decent big brakes on their cars, has anyone besides Movit come up with mounting brackets and such where a person on a budget could pick up a set of big brakes off something in a salvage yard and make them work? So, has anyone tried the Race Optics system above or have other suggestions for good quality solid state recording system?
