I ordered a pump from Vines, and a computer from Zionsville, got both for around $300 total (2005). Problem is gone for last 100K miles. I did this mod many cars ago (on the 330ti).  At the same time, I had them JetHot coated. I didn't notice any HP gains, but did discover it make the car LOUDER. Wallet was also $200 lighter (from the JetHot coating). Best Regards, Ben Liaw - Rogue Engineering 201-444-8150

#4. E36 M3/4 vs. E90 335i (tracking fat cars) - from kjk

After driving the M3 only on the street for a few weeks with a GC suspension I can't fathom how I even stayed in the mirrors of M3's on the track (no offense intended to anyone about their driving ability ;-)). There is simply no comparison and the gross weight of the M5 was always there, no matter how good a driver you were or what suspension was on the car. If you threw a pro in the car he could turn good times for MAYBE three laps before the tires and brakes start to lose peformance. In those long corners like T2 at Thunderhill or T6 at Sears, once the car took a set you were limited by the weight and just had to kind of wait while some little Miata went flying by. You could reduce the effect of the weight by double-apexing and other adjustments but physics is physics. One option when buying the M3 was to sell my M5 and maybe buy an E46 M3 as a street/track car. HOwever, I just didn't want to track another heavy car given experience in the M5. As for the E90 335i, isn't that also like 3400lbs+? No LSD? Bye, bye warranty on the ECU flash? Not sure the wife would look kindly on me voiding the warranty on a $50k car. Plus, with the price differential between even a pristine E36 M3/4 and 335i it is kind of an apples and oranges comparison. #7. 255/40 all season tire recommendation - from Goss, Patrick - PA

Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2007 12:41:47 -0500 From: "Goss, Patrick - PA" <Patrick.Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: 255/40 all season tire recommendation Subject would be going on the stock wheels (rear fenders already rolled), can anyone recommend a decent all-season tire? Having run numerous falken azenis/and their ziex all-seasons on various cars over the years I'm inclined to go with the latest ziex 912 for the M3. I'm sure there are better, (and worse), but as they are all-seasons obviously I don't expect more than what is realistic. They are very reasonably priced which is a good thing as it leaves tire money for a real set of summers. Thoughts, alternatives, bewares, 255 fitment issues on 8.5 stock wheel? Patrick 97 M3/4 Still wheely hurting

The 335tdi we used for the 25hour last year had an oil/water heat exchanger off the oil filter housing. And an extra little radiator plumbed into the stock h2o cooler. And we melted a piston. So does the 335i have an actually oil cooler or a heat exchanger? If the latter then all you're doing is transferring heat from the oil to the water and if the radiator hasn't been upgraded I'd suspect you don't have enough cooling capacity for really extended application higher boost at places like a track. I forget the combination that lands you one. It may be sport package with manual. Non-sport package models do not get an oil cooler. I think they have changed that and all newer ones will get an oil cooler. I'd have to go dig up a recent magazine that indicated the issues and combinations. Technically, if you had the sport package and the steptronic you were supposed to get the oil cooler(as it was stated on the window sticker) but they were delivered without them. There have been quite a few people who went through BMWNA and had them retrofitted through the dealer at no cost. Its an actual oil cooler that can be found in the passenger side front wheel well. Theres fins infront of the tire. If you dont have them then youre SOL. The cars that were overheating in the magazines were auto's delivered without the oil cooler. Another running change in March builds was a higher oil temp gauge that goes to 340 instead of 300. Without the oil cooler cars were hitting 300 and going into limp mode. I have yet to see past 250 on my car and thats running it hard. Also, to the person who said that you would void your warranty with the Vishnu PROcede, they are incorrect. Both dealerships I go to know my mods and have covered multiple issues(including an o2 sensor) under warranty. Unless the issue is directly related to the mod, they cannot void your warranty. Speaking of the PROcede, I just ordered v2 for it last week. That should bring hp/tq figures up to 380/380 to the wheels. :-)Alex "HyperM3" Demsky 07 BMW 335i ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Hyper335.html97 BMW S/C M3 ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Bimmer.html07 Ducati 695 ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Ducati695.html> Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2007 12:51:54 -0500> From: marco@corsa-na.com> To: e36m3@bmw-m.net> Subject: RE: [e36m3] [E36M3] E36 M3/4 vs. E90 335i (tracking fat cars)> > Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2007 10:46:52 -0700> From: "Marco Romani" <marco@corsa-na.com>> Subject: RE: [e36m3] [E36M3] E36 M3/4 vs. E90 335i (tracking fat cars)> > So does the 335i have an actually oil cooler or a heat exchanger?
