An all-season would be better in the cold and snow, but since you said you're going to avoid that.. why bother?

It drives me nuts in a decent corner as my left side isn't held firm. Even if I could fix it successfully, it still lacks the support I'd like. I'm not in love with the vader seats anyway and want a streetable aftermarket solution (drive to work) that won't break the bank. I'm ok with something used as long it is in good condition. Recaro or the like preferably in something other than "boy racer" colors - black would be great. I 'll leave the passenger seat alone as it looks and feels fine. Any suggestions on what to go with and anything to consider when thinking of the fit (kit requirements for fitting into an E36 coupe)? TIA. Amazing tire for everything but winter. I had them out at the track at Pacific Raceways during a monsoon and was the fastest car on track (BMW HPDE) by a large margin. I've tried, but I can't get these things to hydroplane. They are a little squirmy new but they can create some surprising slip angles. I put these on in the March timeframe up here in Seattle just prior to the GGC event at Infineon. Took them on a test drive in a couple of inches of snow to see what we would be in for in the Siskyous on the drive to SF and they were unusable. The car slipped and spun all over the place and I barely got it back home. They are a in no situation drive in freezing weather tire. Fortunately, I've got an aging set of LM-22s that I put on around the November timeframe and leave on until March or so. I will be picking up a new set of similar tires next winter as I expect the current set to wear out this season. Happy customer. As an aside, I've now given up my previously favored street / track Ferodo 2500 brakes - I'm overdriving them at the track and they are leaving serious deposits on the rotors. I'm going to use up what I have on the street and move to a R comp pad for track days now. The S-O3s were my previous favorite tire - the new tires are far superior in all conditions. Absolutely amazing and about $25 less per tire than PS2s. You may want to consider the RE-01R also, which I hear is even better than the RE050A PP in both wet and dry conditions, though I believe they wear faster. They part the waters like Moses. They're also excellent in dry grip. They'll get you through a little wet slush, but anything resembling real snow or ice they are useless and dangerous. Carl

Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2007 13:43:08 -0500 From: "George P. Trilikis" <george.trilikis@gmail.com> Subject: E36 Sunroof issues.. Long story short... I have a sunroof on a 9/94 '95 M3 that is not working. The interior panel does not slide back when closing automatically. It is making funny noises and the local dealer in IL is wanting a laughable $1725 dollars to fix it. They said the cassette needs replaced and it will take ~ 9 hours of labor Do any resources exist out there detailing how to do this? I have found this link below but not much more.. http://www.geocities.com/karlkarlb/bmw_tech.html I do have a Bentley but I was looking for someones experiences with sunroof woes first. Thanks! Hi George, FWIW, I took the sunroof cassette out of my car recently, it took about an hour. That includes removing the A, B and C covers, the visors, interior handles and headliner. The cassette is held in place by ~15 small nuts and comes out as one assembly. I do have the cassette available if you are interested minus the exterior metal panel and am located ~50 miles West of Chicago just off I-90. It sounds like they are quoting you "book rate", the real time should be less than 1/3 of the 9 hours they quoted, although at a dealer you will pay "book rate" no matter how long it really takes. I would try another dealer if I were you or one of the local Independent shops. Regards Jamie Howton
