All it takes is one buyer, and a super-nice car can certainly get a premium. I'm very interested though as my first reaction was the same as Paul's. I'd be looking for a Boxster S immediately if it wasn't for the kid issue but I'm still considering it. I was figuring $25-25k would get me a 2003, which seem to command a pretty good premium due to a significant refresh that year. I may be wrong though, as I have been for years regarding the failure of 993 prices to drop faster. :( Kevin Date: Sun, 16 Sep 2007 16:37:56 EDT From: Shelhart2@aol.com Subject: Re: [E36M3] OT: Boxster S sale for 2000 / 1 M5 Not here in Orlando. Now, when car sets up for a corner, there is a knock from the front suspension. This is from the weight transfer on the suspension. Is this normal with these coilovers? Hi Paul, I had the same set-up (koni SA's with TCK racing camber plates), until recently when I switched to the TCK DA coilovers.? The answer is no.? All was quiet up front with this set-up.? I did experience a knock sound at one time due to the sway bar link coming loose.? Really tighten down those babies, you can't tell when they're loose under load. cheers, ? #8. car working! - from Theodore Serbinski

Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 10:14:26 -0400 From: Theodore Serbinski <stanson@gmail.com> Subject: car working! Hey guys, Just wanted to follow up. Turns out my MAF sensor was indeed bad! I bought a new OEM one and a new aFe ProDry filter (new filter, no need to oil anymore) swapped this in and the car is running great. I do indeed notice the M50 intake manifold kicking in at higher RPMs and the car is idling considerably better. It's only been 1 cycle so far of on/off with the car but I hope this continues this week and I'm back to normal--- just in time for winter and driving less, doh! Many thanks to everyone that helped on the list :-) ted

#9. Repeated rear shock mount (RSM) failure - from Josh
Top
Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 08:11:29 -0700 (PDT) From: Josh <g_force_alt@yahoo.com> Subject: Repeated rear shock mount (RSM) failure A few months back, the right rear shock pushed through the shock mount. The car has 70k miles, so I thought nothing of it and replaced it with a new stock unit. On my post repair test drive, it pushed through again. Given the second failure, I looked around a bit harder and found that the right rear shock had been leaking oil and didn't move smoothly. I attributed the two RSM failures to the bad shock, and promptly replaced the shocks with Bilstein Sports and H&R springs and replaced both RSMs (L & R) with an aftermarket RSM (I think it was the Meyle unit). Last week (3k miles later), the right rear RSM failed again - this time the shock pulled out of the RSM. I replaced it with the stock unit and on my post repair test drive it pulled out again. I'm starting to think there's something else at play. The Bilstein's are in good shape, and while I had it up on the jack stands, I yanked on the trailing arm and hub. Nothing looks grossly wrong. Any thoughts on what else could be causing the repeated failures? Josh '98 M3 ____________________________________________________________________________________ Moody friends. Drama queens.
