There is a listing for a 97 M3 sedan, Estoril over black, with 90k miles and I am curious if anyone is familiar with the car/owner. I might be interested, but I am in Massachusetts. OK to contact me privately. Thanks for any help! Date: Sat, 22 Sep 2007 15:54:16 -0500 From: "Resener, Kurt" <KurtResener@IamMorrison.com> Subject: Hoosier fitment I'm at Road Atlanta and have corded one of my RA1's. Of course the tire guy here doesn't have ant RA1's in my size, 235 40 17. What he does have is some Hoosiers in a 245 40 17. Does anyone know if that'll fit my car? Rear fenders are rolled. Any one have that size on with no rubbing issues? Thanks for any thoughts! -------------------------- Kurt Resener DISCLAIMER Important! However I think it takes the right wheels, sometimes spacers, and some persuading of the fenders to fit. It also depends on the negative camber you run and your ride height. So the answer isn't quite that simple. :-) Carlos 98 M3 running 245/40 street tires On 9/22/07, Resener, Kurt <KurtResener@iammorrison.com> wrote: > Date: Sat, 22 Sep 2007 15:54:16 -0500 > From: "Resener, Kurt" <KurtResener@IamMorrison.com> > Subject: Hoosier fitment > > I'm at Road Atlanta and have corded one of my RA1's. Now, fan comes on about one out of five times the car is started, and occasionally will come on after the car has been driven for a few miles. I am thinking of fan motor itself, but can't see where I can send battery voltage down a wire to see if fan will run on high. Fan is in stock at the local dealer, but at a very high price, and I don't want to swap out the fan if it isn't dead yet. Shouldn't that wire be one of the ones from the final stage unit? Thanks to all that responded, somebody here had a set of lightly used, only friday here in the damp, Ra1's that they sold me so I was able to avoid the big cha-ching of whatever they charge for Hoosiers trackside. I must be having an awful lot of rear tire spin because this set of tires has only only four track days on 'em and three still look great with plenty of tread. The right rear is totally slick and corded. I guess the lesson learned is I need to be much more vigilant about rotating the tires. -------------------------- Kurt Resener DISCLAIMER Important! I tried to negotiate with them but being dealer d***h***ds they wouldn't even do it at cost. "The hoses have almost 100k on them, etc...." So, I went to my independent and he did it for me. He replaced all the hoses, the expansion tank and front cover and they were all contaminated. He did run some diluted Simple Green a few time and drain (so did the dealer) but those parts had to be replaced to get it all out. Any oil will just seep through the coolant hoses. Now he is replacing the cracked head on the E36 M3 I just bought. LONG story that makes me sick to my stomach so I won't repeat it. :-) Kevin '91 M5 '00 323iT '95 Me Avus/Dove (which will have a nice fresh head, oil pump nut fix, oil pan flanges and other "while you are in there stuff") ____________________________________________________________________________________ Fussy? It feels like a bit of a strain on the car to hold it at 80+ all day long. I can't imagine doing it with a shorter diff. > I've never quite understood the attraction of the 6spd. I'm assuming if it's an A/T wife's car, it probably hasn't seen the track. My 95 M3 made it to 62k before the pad wear sensor came on, and my 2000 M Coupe is at 94k and I'm not sure if they've ever been done -- but they're getting down there. > Agree - we have one too, although it is an AT (ugh) - > wife's car.
