Your subject question is, "Should I or shouldn't I buy another E36M3?" The answer to that is, "yes, but another E36M3," and, "no, don't buy this example." IIRC, you have an elise?!? there's some pretty cool cars out there now that'd make fun daily drivers... originally i didnt want to sell the M3, but acqusition of more cars was forcing it to be driven only once in a while, and the opinions of my wife, forced the sale of it...at least i know the guy who bought it, as he knows me from autocross, so i still get to see my car get raced... :D good luck in finding a car... Hi Chester, Take your time, there are some good examples out there waiting for you. With your commute, what about an e46M3 for a little more comfort? Yes, buy another E36 M3. 2. The one you mention doesn't sound like a great deal, perhaps an ok deal. To me, it seems a pristine condition car is what you want, and this isn't it. Are you going to use it to commute, or keep your current one for that task? I think a new E46 spds go for about the same - there are kits for the conversion to a E36. The getrag is a bit more robust. If a 6spd were the same price as a 5spd it'd be a no brainer or even $1000, but on a cost benefit basis I still don't think its worth it unless you're running a really low rear. I race my 5spd with 3.73 and it's just about perfect. But there is no way I'd drive something that low on the street. When I turbo the race car I'll probably go to a 2.9x and stay with the 5spd. #9. Should I??? (Thinking of selling my street car - Sedan) - from Jeff Conner

Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2007 20:56:02 -0700 (PDT) From: Jeff Conner <jeff.conner@yahoo.com> Subject: Should I??? (Thinking of selling my street car - Sedan) So, I'm sick of not being able to fit anything of significant size in my car, it drinks gas like a frat boy drinks beer on Friday night...the driver has a heavy foot...and I can't really justify (ethically) driving it anywhere near it's limits on the street. I get much more fun and experience out of flogging the snot out of (or at least my version of flogging) the track car - 95 coupe. I think it's time to move on to something else, but what? I don't have any money to spend, really, and I'd even like to get some from a sale/purchase to put a full cage in the track car. I've already committed to having the head redone (including valve job) recently - not cheap - and had some new rear suspension bite replaced. I'm having a difficult time giving up the Marque, and I could get a 325i Sedan (E36) for dirt cheap, comparatively, and a 328 for soil cheap, but neither of those really solves the issue that I have with stuffing things into the car. I've been tempted by Subaru, they make lots of wagons. Heeelllllllllp! Does anyone have any recent experience with a $5-10k car (95-02) that is even remotely fun to drive, and far more utilitarian than my M3 sedan? Thanks in advance, -jeff S50 trackdog S52 sedan (not long for the garage?) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Got a little couch potato?
