NOT Well, after lackluster response to the ads and my having a really tough time coming to grips with the idea of parting w/the M3, I canceled the Boxster order. Going to stick with the old warhorse for at least another year. It's just too much fun (and too well sorted now) to let it go for anywhere near 10-11k. The 50k delta between it and the Boxster was also a pretty sobering :) Thanks for all of the thoughts relating to the sale. Scott. -----Original Message----- From: Stiles [mailto:stiles_s@hotmail.com] Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 8:59 AM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Selling my '97 M3 Coupe and RGRs Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2007 08:54:37 -0700 From: "Stiles" <stiles_s@hotmail.com> Subject: Selling my '97 M3 Coupe and RGRs Well guys, I've decided to sell the car. We bounced around a bunch of different options and landed on ordering a Boxster S. High level details on the M3: 92k miles, silver/black, 5spd, coupe. "2.5" owners (I only count the sales manager @ the dealer for the first year as half :) ), lots of records and a ton of maintenance/upgrades over my ownership of the last 2 years. In great shape mechanically and cosmetically. Asking $15k. Detailed in this ad. http://www.bmwpugetsound.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=35614 I'm selling a set of staggered 17" BBS RGRs separately, wrapped with Goodyear F1-DS3s. Super lightweight and strong wheels. Perfect condition with tons of tread left. Asking $2k: http://www.bmwpugetsound.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=35615 Thanks for looking, for any potential leads on buyers, and for the great support and community over the last couple years. I was also a member of Suzy's list back in '99 and '00 when I owned my first M3. Sorry to leave it again, though I may be here for a while depending on how long it takes for the car to sell. Located in the Seattle area. Scott Stiles.

It's the NorCal Shelby Club & they're a good group of car nuts to have fun with. Sure there will be lots of Fords & Cobras, but also many other makes usually show up like Corvette, Porsche, BMW, Mini, Lotus, Miata etc. They run a safe event with a fair amount of on track time. Even had a real McLaren F1 show up at one of their events at Laguna Seca! Check out the link below for more info: http://www.norcal-saac.org/news/0710th.htm Unfortunately I won't be driving my E36 as it needs a head gasketectomy, but I'll be in my Mini Cooper S if anyone goes & wants to say hi. -- Roger.

Date: Thu, 11 Oct 2007 13:48:30 -0400 From: Mark D <mdlkml@atari-source.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Vanos Questions Bob, Our offer on a house practically down the street from Paul's was accepted a couple days ago. Closing is Nov 30th. That's not interesting, what is interesting is that it has an oversized 2 car garage with workbenches on either side and a large work area in the rear :-P I don't know about you guys but I'm trying to hold off everything until it goes below 40 degrees and I refuse to drive the car anymore due to the summer tires. I'll switch to the winter beater and the M3 work can get started. I've been toying with the idea of a full rebuild this winter with new bearings and rings. I want to do it, but I'm not ready to boost it (financially and otherwise) and if I install low compression pistons I'm not sure I'd be able to make it work with stock engine management. I still have lots more research to do on the subject. I don't know what I am going to use for engine management but I like the idea behind MegaSquirt. For the turbo I'd also need high flow injectors, new clutch, new fuel pump, engine management, etc. Money pit :-P But GOD it'd be worth it. I might be able to just get by using high quality internals + a low boost application. I can't believe after the head gasket I'm signing up to disassemble my motor again already :-P I guess it's a bug like motorcycles. When I do the rear subframes this year, I'm going to do it right and replace all the ball joints as well as front and rear shocks/springs and front strut mounts as well. Thanks, Mark mdriver13@aol.com wrote: > Hi Mark, > > This is just a great list with great people. I never feel crazy > asking weird questions and usually the question is not so strange > after all.
