Nail them to the wall if you have the resources to. The OP said it was flat bedded so at most they dragged it onto the flatbed. Dang I was hoping for a good ole fist fight in your story although I suspect the tow truck guy may have broken out a chain or a tire iron. Perhaps not a fair fight. =8^) There used to someone on this list that may have been a body builder and he used to have all sort of confrontations on the road and some he wished to turn into physical ones. Road rage anyone? Carlos 98 M3 (serenity now)

When you remove the 2 screws the backing plate will fall into the rear quarter panel. Making your life difficult. I used the thinest flathead screwdriver that was about 5 inches long. I removed the bottom screw then I put the screwdriver into the hole at an upward angle to hold the backing plate. I backed out the top screw until it was free then put it back in about five threads. I pulled the screwdriver back out then moved the bottom of the plastic latch out of the way and re-inserted the screwdriver only holding the backing plate in place so I could remove the top screw. There is an electrical connector in the center of the latch that you disconnect. Its pulls right off. But continue to hold the latch backing plate with the screwdriver the entire time. Then I re-attached the connector, Put on the rubber backing seal, inserted the top screw through the latch into the backing plate, then when I knew that the top screw was half way in I removed the screwdriver and put in the bottom screw. I did not fully tighten the latch down. I snugged it and closed the door to see where the pin ligned up and then tightened both screws down. I am sorry if this was wordy but I hope it was helpful. As much help as I have received from the members on this list I jump at the chance to help ! -Keith Williams -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Lawrence Barbieri" <larry@logicalconclusions.com> > Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2007 13:21:49 -0400 > From: "Lawrence Barbieri" > Subject: Re:Oscillating Driver Window > > Alex, > > Open the door and take a look at the latch attached to the car. Sears sells a 1 13/16" socket for $25 that works. > Don't ask how I know. Haha :) I ordered one online from pelicanparts in advance, started the work and found out that it didn't fit ... so I had to run out to Sears and get the not-metric-but-it-works socket. -- Adam Lazur

#7. 2008 M3 - GRM article - from Scott McClung

Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2007 14:15:24 -0700 (PDT) From: Scott McClung <smlists@pacbell.net> Subject: 2008 M3 - GRM article Interesting the article in Grass Roots Motorsports on the E92 M3 coupe lists the weight at 3483lbs. I think they are wishing it was that. Also commented the weight grew only 63lbs from the E46 M3. BMW's own press release states 1655kg, which is 3645lbs. How bout a 225lb increase guys? I also noticed on the BMW NA website the Oct. 6th PR confirms the sedan is coming to the states. Cool!! Might be a good buy in 3-5 years. I don't think I will be ponying up $70K for one, however. http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/67D2F998-5EED-4C23-B96B-2163640BEDF9/0/071006_2008_M3_Sedan_Teaser.pdf Scott
