OK...with the championship up for grabs, who do you folks want to see win? I would like to see Hamilton take it. How about WRC? Thanks to bittorrent I am still able to follow it, and its also a close race for the title. I would like to see Gronholm come out on top so he can retire a champ. I have always liked him as a driver and this will be his final year. Dave

I want Alonso to take Hamilton out in the 1st corner... and then after changing the nose and serving his drive thru get stuck behind Massa in 7th for the remainder of the race. Kimi leads pole to checker and finally gets rewarded for years of just shutting the F**k up and driving. His "I was having a shit" line made me a fan for life. What really happens is Kimi, Alonso, Massa, Hamilton unless it rains... making the chips fall Alonso, Hamilton, Kimi. I liked the Speed F1 Poll, that asked essentially the same thing: 1) Alonso 2) Hamilton 3) Kimi 4) No one, they'll all be DQ'd LOL! Nice! Frankly, I'd either vote #3 or #4. I'm not a Ferrari fan, but Kimi's alright. Hamilton's seems OK, but I get the feeling he might become insufferable (yes, I realize we're talking about F1 here :-)), and frankly I used to like Alonso, but he's been acting like an a$$ lately - shut up and drive Fred! Yeah, definitely #4 :-) > How about WRC? Again, tough for me to choose, but I'm going with Loeb, if only because he's participated, and acquitted himself well, in the past in my favorite race event of the entire year - Le Mans. Jim Bassett

The least noisy of the bunch with decent grip. I would buy a set again for street driving. I replaced them with Goodyear F1 GS-D3's because they were on sale. This on the E34 M5 which has had several sets of S03's, Yoko ES100's (crap), Ecsta 711's (my experience mirrors yours) and likely some other one I can't remember. So far the Goodyears are quiet and have decent grip but are a bit soft in the sidewall. I do think tires with rounded shoulders tend to wear better on cars with camber (M5 has -2.0 in front and -2.7 in rear) which is why I always managed to get about 20k out of the S03s. Guess I'll have to tell him this.... I also like the Kumho SPT on my Legacy GT. Grippy, quiet, comfortable, good in the rain. And cheap! I hate all-season tires. The RE92s that came OEM on the Leg were absolutely useless in the snow. Car would not turn, at all. Only the AWD made it go. Pretty happy all around with them, but similar replacements are pricey. They're getting a bit thin though, and one has a significant leak. I have snows for winter. Thinking about replacing them. Priorities, in order: High: Price Dry performance Wet performance Medium: Smooth / no vibrations Treadlife Low / don't care Noise Tramlining Looks Brand Suggestions? Does anybody know, when comparing dry/wet performance of Tirerack's "Ultra high performance all season" and "High performance all season" where does that fall in their spectrum of summer performance tire ratings? These pilots were absolutely suicidal in a light dusting of snow just below freezing; I do have snows so I don't care that much but it would be nice not to be trapped by a light snow that comes unseasonably early. I'm not willing to give up much in summer for it though. How are the cheap brands like Sumitomo and Khumo holding up? I had a set of Khumo Estca 711's on my E30 that I liked very well from a performance point of view, but they got lumpy as they wore and eventually vibrated so much I couldn't stand it, even though they had lots of tread left. -Russ. ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm ************************************************* ************************************************* Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our sponsors: Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com Eurosport High Performance http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com Treehouse Racing http://www.treehouseracing.com Elephant Motorsports Inc. http://www.elephantmotorsports.com DIGEST INFORMATION: http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm *************************************************
