No changes that I know of between years of E36. I think the convertable does have the brake light built in the lid. My '98 M3 2dr has an LED spoiler mounted CHMSL. I don't know what spoilers were available but I believe the one on my car is the only factory one. I'm not sure if the ones that came in the LTWs are considered factory parts or not, they have BMW p/n's so that may qualify but I believe these are NLA. They're like the GT parts but I think PTG somehow modified them and integrated an LED CHMSL into them. I'm about to try the same thing with an MA Shaw replica LTW one and going to integrate a duck bill spoiler into it from Flea-Bay. :-) Enough acronyms for ya? ;-) Carlos 98 M3

The quality is EXCELLENT as the factory that manufactures wheels also produce 5-7 full containers of cast wheels for export to WORK Japan (popular high-end JDM wheel company). Plus, if you ever needed an extra, you could buy a single rim for for less than $175 new. There are three trunk lids in two versions, for a total of six. Excluding the Ti and the Touring. Sedan, coupe and convertible are each different. Convertible is shorter as well as smaller roundel pad and integral CMHSL. The E36 was back when US cars had to have VIN stickers, so US and Euro have different part numbers but are mechanically interchangeable. All of the factory spoilers have drillings for the CMHSL. If you don't want the light, you can put an ///M sticker plate in that location instead. M3 LTW was a derivative of the M3 GT. I think that spoiler or parts thereof is still available. PTG used that spoiler with riser blocks. The coupe and the sedan used different spoilers, but all were the same across the pond. The "M" kit was the same for aftermarket installation as was installed from the factory. Australia got different part numbers, but I don't know why. That's how you can tell that someone added one to a 95 M3, they have the rear window one still there. At least some people go through the trouble of using the wiring from that one on the wing mounted one and disable it. Carlos 98 M3 PS As to 4 door MA Shaw wings, I recently saw a 4-door 325/M3 racecar with an MA Shaw wing mounted.

Once you have stability control hardware on a car the pseudo-LSD function is just a matter of programming, with no extra manufacturing cost. But a real LSD is hardware with real per unit cost. The savings opportunity for BMW must seem irresistible. That said, my Mini Cooper S has real LSD and it was only a $500 option.
