First up, not all tires are created equal. Some tires in 245 rear are wider and narrower than others. Just the nature of the beast. Best way to find out where rubbing is occuring Ive found is to put painters tape or thick masking tape on the inside of the wheel well. Start the strip on the front of the fender though where it might hit and go all the way around till you get to where it meets the bumper. Keep some of the tape on the inner edge of the metal fender too in case you need to roll that.Alex "HyperM3" Demsky 07 BMW 335i ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Hyper335.html97 BMW S/C M3 ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Bimmer.html07 Ducati 695 ~ http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/Ducati695.html> Date: Thu, 1 Nov 2007 17:14:36 -0500> From: dave@sasdatalink.com> To: e36m3@bmw-m.net> Subject: [E36M3] where to tires rub first?> > Date: Thu, 1 Nov 2007 15:13:21 -0700> From: David Thomas <dave@sasdatalink.com>> Subject: where to tires rub first?> > > My new Direzza's seem to be rubbing something on the passenger side of the car > with a bit of suspension compression. Now where is that broom handle.... Thanks, Dave

Because of the suggestions and experience I received yesterday here, I stopped by the shop, recommended by several folks locally today. Even tho our situation is a '97 e38, 740iL, larger and more intricate than our M3's headliner, I got a firm $150 quote, with them doing all the work! I'm taking it in tomorrow AM and will let you know what I think of the results. It's quite a reduction from the $900 (list) for a new headliner, before, labor quoted by our dealer. Thanks to all of you who shared your experience. Best, Bill Ft. For the jack, it's a Costco unit.
