#3. Oil light question - from Ivan Petrov

Date: Fri, 9 Nov 2007 12:34:13 -0500 From: Ivan Petrov <crazyinp@hotmail.com> Subject: Oil light question Recently I installed cams to my car and got the ECU re-flashed (DSR cams with GIAC software) Once the car warm up and RPMs settle to around 700 my oil warning light starts to come on. It is only around those RPMs once I start moving or just press on the gas the everything is back to normal. I checked the oil level and it over max (usually drive with 1/2 to 1 qt over MAX) Is there any way to adjust the RPMs to on idle? Thanks Ivan

There is a screw on the TB that stops the throttle with out any pressure on the pedal. You'll figure it out if you look at it. Trying to find out is there are any real issues. I have a pan with a production date of 12/95 and want to use it on an S50. I know it will fit, but IIRC correctly somewhere in the back of my foggy memory there maybe a difference in the diameter of the dipstick. Or something like that. thanks Marco

The LTW pan holds more oil so the stick doesn't measure the level correctly IIRC. - Bob -----Original Message----- From: Marco Romani [mailto:marco@corsa-na.com] Sent: Sunday, November 11, 2007 2:15 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Oil pan E36 question Date: Sun, 11 Nov 2007 11:10:22 -0800 From: "Marco Romani" <marco@corsa-na.com> Subject: Oil pan E36 question Anyone know what the difference is between an S50 and an S52 oil pan besides the p/n? #9. Not a factory-approved technique - from Reed Nicholson

Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2007 10:02:21 -0800 From: "Reed Nicholson" <reedthis@comcast.net> Subject: Not a factory-approved technique SOUTHWORTH, Wash. - A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, Kitsap County sheriff's deputies said. The 66-year-old man had been repairing a Lincoln Continental for two weeks at his home northwest of Southworth and east of Port Orchard and had gotten all but one of the lug nuts off the right rear wheel before getting frustrated Saturday afternoon, Deputy Scott Wilson said. "He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," Wilson said. From about arm's length the man fired the shotgun at the wheel and was "peppered" in both legs with 00 buckshot and other debris, with some injuries as high on his body as his chin, according to a sheriff's office report. Obligatory content: Don't try this on your M3,either.
