I can also test voltages, etc. I am tearing down a '94 325is with the full OBC as we speak. Someone make me a (low) offer. I also have the full interior and pretty much anything else you can think of available (all we're really going to use is the chassis, as the important bits are coming over from my crashed race car). - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net Check out my JustRacing homepage at: http://www.justracing.com/homepage/mdadgar

#2. SRS Code - from Mark D

Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 16:44:04 -0500 From: Mark D <mdlkml@atari-source.com> Subject: SRS Code Hello guys, Firstly my SRS light came on long ago when I was washing the car with the engine running (it was quite cold outside and needed the heat to keep the water from frreezing to the car). When I got back in the light was on. Marty was kind enough to lend me his SRS tool and I got codes: Supply Voltage Passenger belt sensor That's interesting but I reset the light and it hasn't come on since. Though I haven't had a passenger just yet, but we'll see. I did have a passenger while I was washing my car when the light originally turned on. I've heard especially in these cars that it can be a fluke. In the PO's receipts I see a light reset about 10,000 miles before I bought it. So I guess I can just expect to reset it every year or so when it randomly decides to come on. Any insights? If there's a real problem, I think I want to fix it before I send the tool back :-P Thanks, Mark

I also got a new E36 M3 clutch slave to go with it. Problem is, the clutch slave doesn't fill up the hole in the trans housing - there's a decent gap left over. Any ideas what the issue could be? Was there an early clutch slave that I need or something like that? Thanks. Chris B.

Recently I installed cams to my car and got the ECU re-flashed (DSR cams with GIAC software) Once the car warm up and RPMs settle to around 700 my oil warning light starts to come on. It is only around those RPMs once I start moving or just press on the gas the everything is back to normal. I checked the oil level and it over max (usually drive with 1/2 to 1 qt over MAX) Is there any way to adjust the RPMs to on idle? Thanks Ivan

I'd get a real pressure gauge on there right away. The oil light only comes on when the pressure is REALLY low (or when the sender is defective). Thanks, Mark

Call up DSR and get software with a bump in idle revs. I know Conforti/Eurosport does this for cars with ltw flywheels. And as Mark mentioned, you shouldn't rely on stock gauges if you have a beyond stock motor. Get something aftermarket with at least oil pressure but I like to know what oil temp and coolant temp is as well. Carlos 98 M3

The idiot light is good because it gives you an immediate warning that you will miss with a gauge. Hard G turns bring my warning light on, so I need a baffle. I think my car is around 12-13 PSI at idle if I recall correctly. I also think there is value to oil temperature gauge, both for knowing when the oil is sufficiently heated to allow for full revving, and to check overall temperature during hard driving. -----Original Message----- From: Carlos Lopez [mailto:clopez98m3@gmail.com] Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2007 9:45 AM To: E36M3 Subject: Re: [E36M3] RE: Oil light question Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2007 09:41:07 -0500 From: "Carlos Lopez" <clopez98m3@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] RE: Oil light question On Nov 18, 2007 1:04 AM, Ivan Petrov <crazyinp@hotmail.com> wrote: > I have 150K miles, looks like my car idle really low a little over 500, so > probably 550-600RPMs and if I just touch the gas pedal a little to move the > RPMs to around 700-750 no more oil light.
