AutoHouse AZ (sp) has a new Valeo for ~270ish, no core charge. Also has Stewart WP for ~ $179 as I recall. Noisy when cold, better but not gone when warm. I've replaced the other pulleys in the past. Is the alternator pulley replaceable and/or is the noise likely the alternator itself? TIA, Peter Fanning

I like UUC's Corsa unit, but it is expensive when purchased new. I also like the Stromung. Sounds great on the videos, and is lightweight. Active has a good system but at 34 lbs, is a little heavier than what I am looking for. Rogue's DMS system would also be an option but I don't like the sound of that one as much. It looks like it has good engineering, however. I have my headers and airpump simulator, and am ready to get the cat-back. Tia, Matt Bader 98 M3/4 Delaware

The AA one consists of a little black module about 3 inches x 1.5 inches x 1/2 inch. It looks like it connects to the original air pump connector and to the pre-catalyst o2 sensors. I believe Turner also sells these, but not sure if they are the same manufacturer. Any of you running the 'twin' Ireland setup? Fit OK? Sound OK? Price sure is right. Dave

If anyone is interested, I would be happy to send this stuff to them for the cost of shipping. I will include the vacuum caps I used to plug the ends of the brake hoses while the calipers were off the car. (They're still on the car, so I couldn't get them in the picture.) All I ask is that when you are done, you post to the list and see if anyone wants it next. Doing a blast/scrub, paint & rebuild of your calipers might be a nice winter project for a fellow list member. I have new bleed screws and bracket bolts ordered. As soon as they come in, everything goes back together! - Chris On Nov 12, 2007 1:30 PM, Chris Papademetrious <chrispitude@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all, > > I sandblasted the calipers and brackets and popped the pistons out. > Here are some pictures: > > http://www.chrispitude.net/index.php?album=cars%2FM3%2Fbrakes&dispsize=800&start=0 > > I just ordered a set of 4 stainless caliper pistons from Bimmerworld. > > - Chris

#9. E36 Fuel Starvation - from Jason Bowers

Date: Sat, 8 Dec 2007 18:56:07 -0800 (PST) From: Jason Bowers <jbowers@sbcglobal.net> Subject: E36 Fuel Starvation Hi, Had a chance to visit my local track this weekend and noticed an odd engine behavior with my E36. At full throttle, and above 5500 RPMs, the engine was 'skipping' slightly. Seemed to be more pronounced on the up-hill climbs. I noticed it was occuring more frequently as the fuel level in the tank decreased. Not sure if this matters but recently had a supercharger installed. Is it possible that I might be experiencing symptoms of fuel starvation, and if so, what would be the remedy? Thanks, Jason

The solutions are to either keep the fuel filled above the level you are seeing starvation at or to install a dual pickup fuel pump setup. I don't remember who sells them but this has been discussed many times before so a search of the archives should get you everything you need to know. Regards Jamie
