#1. suspension refresh - from KC Boyce

Date: Wed, 26 Dec 2007 09:52:36 -0500 From: "KC Boyce" <k_boyce@e30eta.com> Subject: suspension refresh All, I'm getting ready to order parts (finally!) for a suspension refresh. My goal is to return the crew cab to "factory fresh" feeling. To that end, I'm planning on replacing the shocks with stock Boges, and replacing the RSMs, RTABs, & CABs. My car is just shy of 90k miles, and hasn't seen track or auto-x use (and probably won't in the foreseeable future; I much prefer using other people's cars for track events!). That being the case, is there anything else I should plan on replacing at this time? The front strut mounts look good (no cracks, etc.); Turner sells a rear suspension refresh kit with subframe, diff & camber arm bushings.are these necessary at 90k? Thanks in advance for any and all advice, KC Boyce '97 M3/4

When I returned to stock components at ~160K, I just did the shocks/struts as well as the front strut mounts. No subframe, diff or camber arm bushings at that time, although should the diff ever have to come out for any reason those bushings will get replaced. So, unless there's an obvious issue with them, I'd skip them for now. My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP

Keep it lean with just leather and you can get out the door for maybe 36k. Maybe I'll just select the leatherette option and move over my SRDs to keep it light. Guess this means the tii will be $40k+ with all of that CF 8( Marc Plante 1997 m3/4/5 Vienna, VA

I'm going to be like one of those crusty old E30M3 owners that refuse to let go of their old and battered cars. I guess I'm glad that my track time is limited with two young kids at home. At least I am keeping the miles down. I also guess that means I'll have to make due with GTR2 on my pc with the logitech G25...maybe hooked up to the plasma (yes my video card does that fine) Sims are starting to get pretty compelling. I just hope that they get more US tracks ported into it. There were some fun ones ported into GPL, but that sim was a bit too much to drive. Still pricey. But since it's not an M car (badged), the depreciation should be better. Maybe pick up one coming off three year lease for decent price?! cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2005 / 2006 Philly Region BSP Champion Sponsored by Wheel Collision Center & Rogue Engineering **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)

#7. Euro intake ITG filter - from Brian Ruiz

Date: Thu, 27 Dec 2007 18:45:18 -0800 From: "Brian Ruiz" <eurowerke@gmail.com> Subject: Euro intake ITG filter Hey all, I finally got around to pulling off my filter today to wash it for the second time in a bit less than 30k miles. As I washed it, I noticed that the filter media was starting to disintegrate. Is this okay? Is my cleaning frequency too... infrequent? I probably should have done it 5k miles or so earlier, but is that really all that much time? I don't think the filter should be disintegrating this quickly, but maybe I'm wrong. I read something about some of the filters having lifetime warranties - with my luck, it probably doesn't apply to this model! Thanks for any input. Brian

Anyway, I have used the original "No-Toil Oil" and cleaner that came with the kit to wash and oil the filter, and I have had the filter since it was new. Perhaps I should call up Eurosport and talk to them. Brian build 8/95, air filterless On Dec 27, 2007 7:21 PM, Jamie Howton <jhowton@gmail.com> wrote: > Brian, > > What are you cleaning it with? Once you drive it for a few weeks you will notice some things in need of repair that the other owner may not have. -Keith -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Matt Bader" <mbader@exammaster.com> > Date: Fri, 28 Dec 2007 07:11:57 -0500 > From: "Matt Bader" > Subject: RE: [E36M3] Re: 135 pricing on BMWUSA.com > > What I want is the new 335d.
