I suppose those who invest in mutual funds with holdings in the likes of Exxon would prefer losses? A 4-6% return on an investment certainly seems on the low end of reasonable to me. Employees only see profits and tend to expect a paycheck on payday with little appreciation for what it takes to run and operate a business (especially in the highly scrutinized public markets). Unless we are willing to make the necessary sacrafices to develop alternative fuel options a sustained $90 a barrell is inevitable. We, as Americans, seem to be more and more prone to wanting something for nothing and are not willing to make the necessary sacrafices to create a sustainable tomorrow. Sorry for the brief rant but these things drive me nuts with these mass media inspired comments that have little bearing on the economic and social realities. M3 content: Still looking for someone to help install my Stage 2 kit. I was going to tackle over the holidays but the honey do list was overwhelming... But does anyone know what exact "E" size is that torx collar nut on the '99 M3 rear drive axle is? I hate sounding stupid, but how does one measure the torx nuts to determine their "E" size? On one of the tool sites I found a 36mm torx impact socket for BMW axle collar nuts, but I'm not sure if it's the right size for the M3... Thanks guys! CORRECTION: Dmitri, you're right and I was wrong. My RWB R&R notes show that we used a 30mm socket, but that was on a friend's 325i. Checking RealOEM I now see that the 325i uses a 24mm thread on the half-shaft end, but that the M3 has a 27mm thread. So the M3's nut must take some larger socket size. Since mine's currently in winter storage I can't check it to see. Sorry for the mis-info! That is the one thing I miss from NJ. Well that and Pizza. The midwest sucks for Pizza. Lots of good EYEtalians in NJ. :) Karl Ypsi MI (soon to be CT resident) 95 M3

I'm planning a panbafflemotormountwiredoilpumpnut upgrade in the near future. I am curious if the new gasket will be lost when I inevitably replace the clutchflywheelquibobushingscdvslavecylinder and preventatively replace the rear main seal. Also, I've been waiting for sears to get stock of the following since it's such a steal of a price http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00970983000P?vName=Tools&cName= MechanicsTools&sName=Automotive%20Specialty%20Tools&psid=YAHOOSSP01&sid= ISx20070515x00001c , however since I'm on month 2 of waiting for them to notify me of being ready to ship, I'm looking elsewhere but unfortunately other suppliers are almost double the price. A number of bimmerforums posts praise the OTC as being the better choice with rubber feet that follow bmw spec of resting on the fender gusset bolt heads. Does anyone have an OTC4324 they want to sell, or a line that I've perhaps missed on where to get a better price somewhere between what sears is not shipping yet and all the online the tool warehouses? Engine suspension by 2x4's is out of the question, as are ratchet straps to strut bar. Patrick 97 M3/4
