Some guy did one here in Detroit a few years ago, ironically his g/f wrecked it when she mistook the gas for the brake pedal. I only got to see the wrecked car. Carlos 98 M3 97 540i/6

There is Youtube of that somewhere... Personally I think that the development of this kit is the best thing to ever happen for E36s. I've always considered an E36 the ultimate toy, plentiful, cheap enough to be disposable, nice enough to take on a date. Finally you can make reasonable horsepower (500ish) reliably. No turbos, superchargers or grenading headgaskets just a stock engine with a good cam and some decent heads. Heck, the LS motors that are run the DPs are detuned to make less power. Because of the low mileage (1995 with only 49,000 miles) and condition, I am considering buying it as an exception beside all the BMWs I have looked at so far. This is going to be my son's car. Could some of you have the access to Carfax look it up for me if it is not too much trouble? I greatly appreciate your help! Is is it possible to get any e36 (318, 325) DME and put my Turner chip in it and still run my engine, or does it have to come from another 1995 M3? Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2008 23:08:06 EST From: LoweSeaton@aol.com Subject: Re: [E36M3] DME compatibility It is even more specific than that. The DME has to match on the EWS, i.e., anti-theft ignition key. Pre 1/95 was EWS-I and 1/95 and later is EWS-II. My car is a 9/95 production with EWS-II. My DME part no. ends in 413 but won't work in a pre 1/95 model M3. [I forget the last 3 digits of the EWS-I DME.] Good luck!
