Nice that there is a 'package' for total replacement in one-stop-shopping, but far from perfect in terms of fitment. BSW previously offered three brands of speakers with their Stage 1 Audio Upgrade: CDT, MB Quart, and Rainbow Audio. Now it is only the one package deal. A basic 'stage 1' speaker set for a e36 coupe starts at $499....and they are not even that good of speakers. And $109 for a pair of paper coned front door mid's (almost $200 if you need tweeters)? I think that falls well into the 'waaayyy overpriced' category considering they are only mediocre speakers at best. Nothing wrong with mediocre speakers...as long as you are not paying a premium price for them. If people find that much value in not having to do any wiring at all, great, I personally think its a ripoff. - Dave

The OEM speakers are not standard impedence and they are designed to work with the x-over points in the factory amp. Aftermarket speakers do not take that into consideration unless they're designed as a replacement set for the OEM system. Not sure if the BSW speakers are but it's something to consider. #6. Another GC Suspension Question - from kjk

Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 12:31:31 -0800 (PST) From: kjk <quierom5@yahoo.com> Subject: Another GC Suspension Question I determined my GC swaybar had the wrong size frame bushings which is causing the rattle. Doh. Ordered new ones form an Energy dealer. As I will be changing spring rates, I took a look at the rear to see what was going on back there. Mainly I wanted to know if I could go from the current 2.25" spring to a 2.5". Seems like I can without a problem. However, it appears the current spring has come out of its seat at times and totally thrashed the GC threaded sleeve. Also, one of the seats seems to be missing its set screw. I guess that is not crucial but nothing ever shocks me on this car anymore. The PO's standards were pretty low it seems. I think the rear equipment may work but I may want to replace it so I have no issues with stripped threads, etc. How can I prevent that from happening again? The car had 7", 450lb springs in the rear with evidence the coils were binding. I am going to a 6", 550lb, 2.5". Do they all come out of their seat on a sudden elevation change or is there a fix. Lastly, no bumpstops on the car. Do I need to run them and if so which ones? Yes, I should have bought a stocker and done it myself. Live and learn. Kind of depends on the shocks you're running but I'm going to guess Koni or ADs. GC should have the correct bumpstop for you. If for some reason they are Bilsteins then I believe the bumpstop is internal. BTW my rear springs have also chewed up the tops on the rear GC adjusters. Mine pop out during tire changes. You can either switch to their articulating weight jackers or switch to someone else's adjusters. I'm switching to an AST/Vorshlag suspension so I'll give that a go. Cheers, Carlos 98 M3 97 540i/6 fixed by the Koala man. :-)
