#5. TC Design diff cover, brand new - from Jack - Elephant Motorsports
Top
Date: Mon, 10 Mar 2008 13:45:09 -0400 From: "Jack - Elephant Motorsports" <jack@elephantmotorsports.com> Subject: <FS> TC Design diff cover, brand new I've got a TC Design diff cover for sale. It's brand new, never used or installed, still in the original packaging, never been removed. We bought it for a track car project but have decided to install a diff cooler kit instead, don't need this. This cover has the machined solid aluminum ear mounts so it's better suited to track use, you cannot install rubber bushings without having these mounts machined out! Pics available if needed but like I said, it's brand new. Price is $375 + shipping. Cheers. Jack Money

#10. PS rack play? Reman? - from Steve Klein
Top
Date: Mon, 10 Mar 2008 16:23:36 -0500 From: Steve Klein <s.klein@steveklein.cc> Subject: PS rack play? Reman? Well, the tie rod replacement was a cinch as before, and with strings, I was able to set the toe shade-tree close to zero and the front end feels much, much better and more crisp in changing directions and low speed turns. However... I can wiggle either wheel (or have someone wiggle the steering wheel while I hold the rack still by hand) and get a significant amount of play from the rack, with a clear metallic clicking noise. Same on the road that it takes a few degrees of turning before it feels like it's receiving my inputs. I'm assuming the rack is worn. It's got 187k/mi. of DD use, year round. Is this within reasonable wear parameters? I haven't tried replacing the lower flex disc above the rack, but the play felt like it was directly inside the rack unit. If that's the case, are there recommendations for replacement units, and is a remanufactured unit viable (I see ZF units for mid $400's... eesh). I'll be replacing the PS pump at the same time, and want reputable parts, but not at the cost of my yet un-conceived first child. Thanks, Steve
