As a previous owner of an E30 M3 and now a E36 M3. The steel arms are more durable. The aluminum is lighter and has the benefit f less unsprung weight. That being said. On my E30 I only used the steel because the savings in weight is not worth the extra price. Double the money for basically an identical item was enough motivation for me not to use the aluminum on either car.

#2. HFM Wiring Harness - from Jonathan

Some time ago, we installed the Eurosport OBD2 Cam Kit on my '99 M3. It's recently been transformed to OBD1 (for club racing) and I need to swap out the Porsche air meter for a 540 HFM (which is coming in today). Does anyone have experience with or know if the wiring harness for the Porsche HFM that was on it (which came with the cam kit, if my shady memory is working)should just plug right into the 540 hfm, or will I need to do any sort of rewiring/rerouting of wires? Thanks! Jonathan L.

I want to use them on my daughter's 318iC convertible. The door jamb placard only supposes you will use one size of wheel on all four corners. Is that because the wider rears won't fit? Would this cause understeer and would that be bad for a low powered young adult's car? Thanks, Ed

Oversteer causes most inexperienced drivers underwear issues, that s they need to change them. A half an inch wider rim won't be noticed by the vast majority of people on this list serv. I'm not sure what a 318 can accomodate but 8.5 inch rears will likely not be much of an issue in a 17 inch rim. Shel **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money & Finance. They should fit if you are talking E36 318ic and talking about E36 M3 wheels which I assume you are. I believe the biggest issue is clearance on the exhaust can on the left rear, a hammer can alleviate this issue. The placard is that way because it probably only lists those options that were options from BMW and they only offered the 318ic with same size wheels on all four corners. > Would this cause understeer and would that be bad for a low powered > young adult's car? Any time you increase the rear tire width over the front, you increase understeer. For most drivers, this is fine and generally considered safer. YMMV, I am not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Regards, Rich

Wonderful rims, haven't bent yet on horrible PA roads and they are *extremely* light. Unfortunately mine have a lot of burnt on brake dust which seems to be removable only after many hard hours of scrubbing. I thought about sending them to that wheel repair place in Bethlehem PA to have them cleaned and painted (I think they're painted). Thanks, Mark
