Wonderful rims, haven't bent yet on horrible PA roads and they are *extremely* light. Unfortunately mine have a lot of burnt on brake dust which seems to be removable only after many hard hours of scrubbing. I thought about sending them to that wheel repair place in Bethlehem PA to have them cleaned and painted (I think they're painted). No rotor warping, and the pads and rotors lasted over 50K matched to each other and provided excellent stopping power in my opinion (I can recall at least one time I was certain I was done and somehow wasn't). And when I said extremely light I meant for what they are and how strong they are. Also for price, those BBS and Fikse you speak of are pretty expensive IIRC. Thanks, Mark

While being an aluminum forged wheel and stronger than the 1995 M3 cast "M DOUBLE-SPOKE" (STYL.22) they still are softer than other non-BMW forged wheels. Still my all time favorite factory M3 wheel. #8. aluminum TS housing junk? - from Bill and Jan Klemme

Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 16:26:56 -0400 From: Bill and Jan Klemme <wklemme@gmail.com> Subject: aluminum TS housing junk? Today when calling a (BMW specialty) shop about having my cooling system done, I asked if they used the aluminum thermostat housing and the guy said no, they went back to the OEM part because they've recently had 4 cars come back with leaks through the housing. Said it's a very thin casting at one spot and it gets hot and soon starts weeping through. Anyone had that problem? I'm getting ready to put all that stuff in soon. BTW he quoted me close to $1000 to do the radiator, water pump and the small bits. $700 just for the parts! I've never used them before, and I guess I never will... Thanks, Bill K

I've not, but I have heard the same "issue" from one of my local mechanics. He only uses the OEM plastic part because of this, and he works on a mix of street/track/race cars. I happen to have been an "early adopter" of the Al housing on both cars, and have had no issues. > BTW he quoted me close to $1000 to do the radiator, water pump and the > small bits. $700 just for the parts!
