If you look around some of the on-line bike parts discounters often have some nice wrenches for just a few bucks too. Another option is to get a cheap 1-1/4" wrench from HF and spend some quality time with your bench grinder.... BTW: Anyone know why VPD quit selling tools? I have one of their wrenches/pump holders and it works well...they had a few other items I was considering buying too. Bummer to lose a source of reasonably priced specialty tools. http://www.victoryproductdesign.com/ Dave

I bought a box of those stretchy white ones, but they lasted me about 35 seconds before ripping little holes in them, especially when I tried to remove a loosened nut with my fingers. Then taking them off was impossible without turning them dirty side in, and being an impatient sort I could never get them back on again without touching the greasy side first. So I figure what's the point if your hands get dirty putting the gloves back on and it takes longer than removing the part? >:o Regards, Bill K (not as grumpy as I sound) :-D

A glove with a protected palm, nylon (I think) on the back, with knuckle protection. The last ones I picked up were at Costco. They don't give you full dexterity and feeling on your fingertips but when I'm done, there are no dirty fingers. Also less bloody knuckles. Other places sell them but Costco used to carry them for $20/2 pair. Pep boys has them, and you can find them online in a couple different thicknesses. They hold up pretty well, and they come off your hands easier than the latex ones, too. For really sturdy gloves, buy the actual Mechanix Gloves. http://garage.mechanix.com/ Harbor Freight or Northern tool (can't remember which) usually has a good price on the basic Original Glove. I wear out several sets per year between my job and working on the car. Paul Andrews 98 M3/4 # 42 STU On Thursday 13 March 2008 3:14:56 pm Bill and Jan Klemme wrote: > Hmph, I _thought_ I did. Mechanix gloves: http://garage.mechanix.com/ Or any similar maker. These are great for non-greasy applications, like most suspension work where the items aren't greasy, or when you've got 30 minutes before a session and exhaust or header bolts need applying / tightening), but once grease and oil become a factor, the nitrite / latex gloves are the way to go. It helps to get the right size, and it helps to break out a new set once the fingers tear. Mechanic friends of mine use the really think ones that go halfway up the arm, and reuse them throughout the day. I don't care for those, and use the cheaper ones slightly thinner ones. Once the cloth gloves get oily they're pretty gross to put on. Jason ----- Original Message ---- From: Kent L.
