I used it on my car before I removed the ASC TB. Basically, it causes your car to default to ASC OFF but allows you to turn it back on by using your ASC button. I went a little farther and installed a switch so that I could set it up to defalut to ASC ON or ASC OFF, depending on the position of the switch I added. http://www.jogger-egg.com/kbob/asc+t.html Jay ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gus Iverson" <gus.iverson@gmail.com> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Friday, March 14, 2008 2:35 PM Subject: Re: [E36M3] Which fuse do I pull to disable TC? > Date: Fri, 14 Mar 2008 14:34:24 -0700 > From: "Gus Iverson" <gus.iverson@gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [E36M3] Which fuse do I pull to disable TC? > > After having received some deserved ridicule, I should provide further > explanation. > > I'm an experienced "A" group driver at track events. > > I know how to drive w/o traction control and do so regularly both on > and off the race track at *driving schools*. > > For various reasons, I'd like to have traction control > semi-permamently disabled on my vehicle. > > I've JFGI and found info about how to modify the switch, buy a > different throttle body, etc - none of which meet my needs or > timeframe (no time to get the different throttle body before I need > this done). > > So, I need a little help. Anyone check that out? I watched a little. Was pretty cool, looks like those guys will actually need to 'drive' the cars this year. Anyone care to make some predictions? Dave

You probably shouldn't wear eye protection either (lotsa smiley faces) :) :) If you have a tendency to over oil your impact gun like I do, you have a pair of ratty gloves which serve dual purpose. In my opinion, (key word opinion) a long day of wrench twisting doesn't seem as long with gloves on. Yep this is the first weekend, Australian GP. Goooo Hamilton!!!!!!! He could have had it last year. Couple of mistakes cost him. I'm watching to see how competitive BMW will be. Spain should be interesting to see if the fans are really as bad as they were in practice. Removing the extra throttle body, replacing the boot, and tieing off the remaining cable off to the side is semi-permanent IMO. That's what I did. The ASC also controls the rear brakes at low speeds, I think under 30mph or something. Friend said his buddy did a half-disable type deal and ended up with burnt valves. I think the half-disable involved removing the flap on the 2nd throttle body. I pulled the whole thing and have not had any issues. I'm not sure if he left his plugged in or something, mine is obviously not plugged in since it's out of the car. -Carlos.
